Came upon this classic cafe quite by chance as we looked for a morning coffee , it's only a small shop but it opens up toward the back where the small and energetic team work away at making magnificent coffees. Most customers are local and we saw they remembered people's orders without prompting . Highly recommended

Stumbled upon this hole in the wall cafe and enjoyed a nice conversation with the owners - very outgoing and amiable people. Had a cannoli - very tasty while doing some internet checking as they offer free WIFI. The cafe was kept pretty busy and it was obvious that even the locals enjoyed the food served here. When in Rome... More

We have heard about this place and finally managed to stop by to try it. I really enjoyed my tasty coffee and I liked the atmosphere of the place as well. Very polite staff.

Cute esspresso shop. They sell the beans they use in the esspresso which is very convienant. Not much selection on chocolate. The espresso was great.

I visited Sciascia this morning (22/9/16). The staff were warm and friendly and the cafe itself has a nice atmosphere. Historical pictures of Rome on the walls, nice decor, and I think I was the only tourist in the store! (Little side note: I admit, I came to Rome with romantic types of ideas about the coffee shops here, and... More

Sciascia is an old traditional cafè in Prati area, in my opinion the espresso here is really good, expecially with chocolate, and i am a coffe addict. Also to buy a good coffè for moka, is a good place with a good choice. And please dont put sugar in your cup ...

You have to go there. Is one of the most old classic cafe in Rome. With big history. You can see the pictures in the wall and you will understand. Very good espresso and sweets.

On walking in to this cafe I immediately fell in love: if I were a local, this would be my haunt. The items on offer are as good as the atmosphere: the coffee with a drop of chocolate should be on every bucket list, and the granita we had was delicious and a million miles from the usual dross.

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
