One of the best meals I've had in a while: raw tuna and giant squid. The freshest, highest quality ingredients I've come across in Rome, served with competence and a smile. Definitely recommended!

I was born in Calabria, and as you know all of our food is full of good things; in this typical restaurant I found a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, the staff, as well as the owners are most helpful and also very kind, but the most important thing is the authenticity of organic products, which arrive daily from Calabria; I... Very small restaurant in an alley. I had tuna tartare for appetizer, the portion was big and taste was great. I ordered tagliatelle pasta with cream and black truffles dish for main course, It was fantastic. Wife ordered some pasta dish with tomato and basil, she said it was bland and she didn't like it (I forgot the dish name... More

The staff at our hotel recommended this restaurant when we asked about a place within walking distance. We liked the food so much that we returned the next night for a second dinner. It's a small dining room, casual but pretty. Most of the food is brought in from Calabria, we were told. We particularly enjoyed the paccheri, the bean... More

We found the place using "The fork" app. And honestly we checked it because it had an offer. But after being there I would go even without a discount. Very recommendable. The attention is superb, the food is the real southern Italian cuisine, no pizza but you don't miss it. Try the "chjina" vey recommendable or the "Carpaccio" it is... More

Good food which was tasty and fresh. We were here on a Sunday night during Easter so the restaurant was basically empty of guests.

This place is fantastico. Il Peperoncino D'oro was one of the best restaurants we visited in our month-long holiday to France and Italy. The menu offers multiple variations on classic Italian cuisine. We enjoyed pumpkin and minestra soup, a spicy pasta (firrazuoli), tuna and duck - all were excellent and delightfully different than standard Italian fare. The service is attentive... More

I know Rome pretty well as I've been living here for 9 years and I have my favorite places. Today this one has been added to my list, a place I'll definitely come to. For a starter I tasted their fantastic creamy pumpkin soup, delicious!!!! For the first course I chose pappardelle with red sauce and cod cubes, the combination... More

Having had two experiences at other restaurants during our visit to Rome we needed to try another for what was my birthday evening. We viewed from the outside all those that we had on our TripAdvisor list and in doing so passed Il Peperoncino D'Oro which I was immediately drawn to. It appeared quite small, as witnessed by other reviews... More

We were your regular Americans, showing up right when the restaurant opened at 7:30 and the owners were gracious to seat us. We ate like kings and queens that night, having read all the reviews. We had the roman artichokes (must have) and the tuna tartar (delicious, it has a layered spice that does not present all at once). Should... More
