It was the best gelato I had in Rome. I tasted the fragola (strawberry) and chocolate flavours and came back the next day, when I had to have another serve of the chocolate gelato, the best in my opinion. The service was really good as well, above the standard for Rome.

It's a small place, near bus stop 23,62 (Sant Angelo) easy to miss, but it's the best ice cream in Rome :)

Try the Nutella Ice Cream and the Black Bomb, a kind of chocolate mousse! If you have time, chat with Giuseppe, the owner, from Naples! Great guy!

We were staying in the area and came across this place by chance, and what a discovery it was! The gelato is delicious, and Giuseppe is such a lovely guy!! We liked it so much we went back the next day for a last gelato before leaving Rome. Thanks Giuseppe!

This has been one of our favorite places in Rome for gelato. The coconut is great and the coffee flavor is superb. The pistachio ranks among the best...actually you can try them all and decide. Friendly service awaits your visit. Don't miss this one.

We went in a group of six people. All of us really enjoyed the ice cream, one of the best that we have tasted in Italy.

We tried a few Gelato places, but this one is a clear winner for us. We kept going back thru our week in Rome and we were never disappointed. The flavor of the gelato is just so amazing. It takes your taste buds on an amazing journey every time.

Not all Gelato is created equal. Having tasted it from all over Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Venice... none compares to the in-house made gelato of L'Arena del Gelato. It has a clean profile with no heavy after-taste left on the palate. The portions are generous and a value in comparison to all nearby competition (if you can call it that?).... More

Small ice cream shop with some tables to sit down and enjoy their delicious ice cream. They have around 20 different kinds of ice cream, we had 5 and all of them very good indeed.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
