If you want to taste the real roman recipes in a traditional and not touristic atmosphere you definitely have to go here...once you go out from this fabulous restaurant don't forget to have a drink in one of the crowed pubs of this cool area of the city!

We had a negative experience in May 2016. There were 6 of us -- including my brother who lives in Rome and is very accustomed to restaurants throughout Italy and who speaks Italian. Lowlights included: ● We arrived at our reservation time of 7pm recognizing we would be some of the first customers of the evening. We found the doors... More

We had read the reviews and they are half true: the carbonara is the best we've ver tasted, the service was excellent, the young man tending our table was attentive, knowledgeable, and very efficient. This is a great place, with great food, in a great location. Even the house wine was good, which is something to say about most trattorias.

It's the best restaurant in Rome! It has the best carbonara we ate in Rome.. The portions were twice bigger from any other restaurant in Rome. The prices were good!! One tip only. If you don't want your carbonara with much pepper, you better ask for that.

This is definitely one of those restaurants where you have to decide between good service and great food. The long line composed mostly by young locals was a comforting sight for this hungry and tired tourist. It's a enjoyable little restaurant with no ambient music but loud costumers, we were first gritted by the owner in a not so kind... More

We had high ratings from friends for this restaurant, but they were not full filed. I hope the waiter was new, he had not learned to smile yet. And when we ordered the first 2 things and the wine was not available today! When we received the penne pasta it was not cooked enough so we had to deliver it... More

Most people think highly of this long established place in Campo di Fiori. The food, service and prices are all excellent. The tiramisu is served in a jam jar. What a neat idea! There is just something missing. I think both our waiter and I were each having an off night. I'll try it again on my next trip to... More

If you love Italian genuine restaurants this is the place to be. This family run restaurant is very renowned for their carbonara. A MUST HAVE if you are dining here. The lamb was very very tasty too. The atmosphere is great and the family who run the place are so friendly and make you feel like a local.

We enjoyed the evening stroll down to this pretty restaurant in a quiet side street. If you are looking for a bombastic front man, this isn't your restaurant - it got louder as the evening went on and the service was welcoming, attentive, prompt and professional. We had an anti-pasto to start (that was fantastic) and then my beautiful companion... More

we had reservations for dinner, and apparently they stated we did not. Someone else had made the reservations for us, and put it under another name. I understood this, and walked away. I wanted to give this restaurant a try, however just wanted to have dessert and coffee. The host refused to serve (there was not one table occupied in... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
