This charming trattoria is near the Colosseum but off the beaten path. The food is excellent and the staff delightful! You can avoid steps by taking Viale del Monte Oppio from 2 blocks south of Santa Maria Maggiore in Monti.

Very good food. Nice, long dinner. Very tasty gnocchi and good wine. The owner happened to be sitting near us, which was amusing. He was watching everyone like a hawk! We did get complimentary shots of Limoncello after dinner. Great service!

I have visited this place 4 years ago and was happy to come back. Close to the Colosseum but far from the tourist crowdy places, amazing service, we were treated like by own family. Food was very good.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hostess at the Hotel Paba (also excellent) a couple of blocks away. It is a couple of hundred yards off the beaten track, which means most tourists don't make it that far. It is not fancy but...More

It is a fine place, in the closest Colosseo perimeter, with a view on this giant artifact and also on the Neros Golden House ruins. Really great lunch menu, especially Italian style sandwiches (focaccia, panini, tramezzino). We also tasted pasta and vegetable soup - also...More

This restaurant is on a quiet street and is frequented by locals rather than just tourists. We ate here in between tours and thought the food was wonderful. All of us had pasta--it looked little in the bowl, but like all good Italian pasta it...More

As Bighorndon says, its unlikely. They are not connected electronically to the world (or at least they don't respond). We wrote them a regular snail mail letter to secure our booking for 17 people and they answered it.

I don't believe so. You wouldn't find such a thing commonly in Italy.
