We ate lunch here when we arrived in Rome at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. I had a pizza that was very good. My husband ordered seafood risotto and it was just OK. This was his least favorite meal in Rome. Prosecco was cheap and good so I was happy!

Ate at restaurant that was convenient to my hotel. Ate there for included hotel breakfast and dinner twice. Service was pretty good but had to wait a bit for check although was clearly done with my meal and to go meal meal served. I just believed it was a cultural thing because had similar experience in other restaurants. Meals were... More

The only reason that I am giving this an average review is because it is in a location that I normally don't frequent when I am in Rome. I always stay at a hotel near The Pantheon, and this restaurant is not near it. We had a good meal, but there are far better restaurants near The Pantheon. We ate... More

Dear MGMAhonoree thank you very much for your feedback. You are right, Cotto restaurant is about 25 minutes walk from the Pantheon. But it's a stone's throw from Piazza della Repubbica, Theater of the Opera, Baths of Diocletian, National Roman Museum Palazzo Massimo, St Mary Major, St Mary of Victory, Quirinale Palace, National Gallery Barberini Palace, Esposizioni Palace and much... It was a ok dinner for a family which is mainly focusing on larger number of guests, but not nice Italian quality and atmosphere. We would not recommend it again.

Restaurant was recommended by Artemide Hotel as their own was fully booked. We were happy with our first dining there, so we went there again. Price was reasonable for our food and wine selection. If we be close again, we will stop for a third meal.

My husband and I were looking for a great restaurant to dine in and the man from Mitsukoshi suggested this restaurant. The service was excellent! We had our ups and downs in Italy. We noticed everyone was always angry! Maybe it was only coincidence... but, this restaurant was the best! Great service, bilingual and the food! Absolutely exquisite! Affordable too!... More

Cute decor nice patio good service awful food! The table was more tender and had more flavor than the steak which was at least half fat. My wife had the pork loin which had lots of flavor but only a tad less tough than my steak. The salad was huge and pretty good. Sixty Euros down the drain. We did... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
