We didn't order the full tasting menu because there were several items on the tasting menu my husband didn't like, so we went with an appetizer, main course, and dessert. I had the duck breast prosciutto, lamb, and condensed milk with espresso jelly and Baileys...More

Modern, light-filled, lots of glass in evidence. Wine range is European, not just Italian. Some expensive wines , but most reasonably priced The Foie Gras ravioli was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten . Octopus with apple was well presented and cooked perfectly....More

In our six days in Rome, Glass Hostaria was our only "fine" dining experience. Glass lived up to its hype. The interiors are modern but comfortable. And I would describe the food similarly. We had the 9 course tasting menu and it was well worth...More

We got off the plane, took a quick rest, and ventured to the Tratevere neighborhood for what would be one of the best meals of our two-week vacation. From the amuse bouche through the dessert, the meal was one to remember. Our 14-year-old son called...More

We arrived in Italy with only our lodging and two reservations booked. One for a car rental to explore Southern Tuscany and an 8:30pm dinner reservation for Glass Hosteria in Rome. Needless to say we had been looking forward to this meal since our plane...More

It is a bit hard to find good restaurants in Trastevere, where around 80-90% of the places are tourist traps. So it is very pleasant to find a great restaurant like Glass Hostaria. From the first moment we felt extremely welcome. The service, the drinks,...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded

Description
Glass Hostaria restaurant in Rome’s Trastevere quarter is an eye-full for lovers of superhot modern design. Set in one of Rome’s oldest, most atmospheric neighbourhoods, Glass Hostaria’s fabulous high-concept dining space with its soaring ceilings, open staircase, part-glass floor, sleek seating and stunning gold-filled niches contrasted with raw brick pillars and original beamed ceiling has won accolades and international attention. The Italian menu under the direction of Cristina Bowerman is an inventive balance of then and now, with dishes like starter of foie gras with caramelized bananas (yes, that’s right) and brioche, first course of risotto with oysters, crème fraîche and crunchy artichokes, second course of pork filet with quinoa, smoked tomatoes and orange sauce, and dessert of chocolate cake with rosemary ice cream. The tasting menus are good value and the wine list has over six hundred labels on offer. Hire of this venue would make a superb site for stylish launches or sophisticated parties. The service is excellent and, after dinner, Glass Hostaria turns into a wine bar, so you can linger on and on.
