We had lunch at Trattoria Anna Maria two years ago, and it was outstanding. For this reason, we made a detour to Bologna on this year's trip to Tuscany just to eat here. What a disaster. I ordered lasagna (it was phenomenal in 2015) and...More

Trattoria Anna Maria was recommended to me by one of the owners of Caffetteria Ambaradam, the coffee/sweets/lunch place near where I was staying. When I reported on my visit to Trattoria Anna Maria to them the next day, I learned they had worked there 28...More

Maybe it was a bad night, or maybe this place is highly overrated, or maybe we got the "tourist" food that locals don't get. In one of our last nights in Bologna we came here, so granted we know what the region has to offer....More

If you like your lamb and potatoes deep fried and soaked in grease this will suit you - what a mistake - terrible. Pleasant service though!

Luckily we thought of booking ahead at Trattoria Anna Maria, because it's madly popular -- and with good reason. A bottle of Sangiovese Superiore, a shared tortellini with ragout (usually with tagliatelli but made specially with cheese - stuffed tortellini at our request), grilled pork...More

Showing my dad around the city I used to live in, an Italian friend suggested this place for lunch. I was hesitant because I know it is touristy and in the University area which I generally try to avoid. But wow was this lunch worth...More

The food was really fresh and hand made, the restuarant was very homely with all the pictures on the walls and drawings etc and the waitors were attentive. It was crowded so I would recommend going early.

We first dined here in the summer of 1996 and have visited it often. Anna Maria was making the pasta herself then. Not any more, but the food is good. We visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded but we were...More

The food is below average for above average prices and the service is bad. We waited 20 minutes for someone take our order while the couple beside us, who arrived after us, were served immediately. We also had to ask for the bill twice before...More

We went twice and didn't have a reservation for either night. I don't think it will be an issue for you - worst case you may have to wait. You can stroll to kill time - the area is a mix of young people and bars. Make sure... More
