Just came from a lovely meal at Il Pirate which was near my hotel and convenient for a Sunday night. I had the pasta with octopus and the fried seafood mix. Both very good. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I not only did not find the staff to be rude or lax but I found them to be very... More

After reading the reviews and looking over the exterior my wife and I had low expectations but after getting back late from Ravenna we were hungry and not in the mood to do much searching. I had the Fritta mist which was a large plate of fried seafood. The squid was very tender and it was all quite delicious. For... More

Our last night in Bologna and after some big days of being tourists in and around Bologna pizza sounded like a good idea. And this restaurant was only about 100 metres from our B&B The pizzas were great though very big but still managed to get through it. Just . Good texture and flavour. Managed to save a little room... While on a business trip to Bologna, I visited this restaurant for a working dinner. The food in itself was enjoyable (although nothing I'd find fantastic), but the service was all over the place. It may have been due to different approach to food and having a meal, but it was clear that the group I was with had a... More

I got pizza and beer--typical combination for Italians--and I loved it. The service was excellent, friendly and professional. The wait was minimal, and the price very good in terms of quality-price. The restaurant is also ideal for large groups, as it is quite big.

This place may be a bit off the beaten track for some visitors, but it's conveniently located for the Museo di Arte Moderna (MAMbo) and the railway station, and is well worth seeking out for anyone. It's spacious and nicely decorated, and offers a wide selection of (mainly seafood) menu items, many of them reflecting the owners' family connections with... More

I've tried the tagliatelle ragu and the tortellini al ragu at Il Pirata del Porto and highly recommend them (on the other hand, wouldn't recommend the pasta alla scoglio at all). The ambiance is very relaxed and the place spacious, a great change from the restaurants around the the center. A great neighborhood style restaurant for a fresh breathe of... More

By far one of the worst places I dined at. We booked a table, and we found out it was next to screaming children. We asked the waiter if we could have another table, he said the place was fully booked. But we saw many empty tables around us, he just didn't want to give us another one. He said... More

It is a large place with real oven pizza and seafood. It was within a block of my recommended B&B Benelli. It had a nice variety of pizza choices and good service. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if it's convenient, I would gladly do so.

Big, informal, typical Italian restaurant off the busy streets. Fish, local and Italian cuisines. Very informal and excellent value for money. Their 'Tagliatelle al Ragu` Bolognese' is ample and very tasty! Service with a smile! One of the best for informal dining, even with children.
