I found this small trattoria when I was walking around looking for something traditional and not expensive, for a simple dinner on a Monday... It was a good choice !! I tried the "tagliatelline verdi con ragu di prosciutto" (small green tagliatelle with ham ragout), with a 1/4 litre of "Sangiovese" (local red wine), and an espresso coffee. All for... More

We stopped by Bologna on our way to Venetia. Found this restaurant on near Basilica of San Stefano. The food was good, we had Tagliatelle alla bolognese. The owners were a couple and friendly even though they speak very little English. They provided us with English menu. It was an interesting experience having bolognese at the original town of Bologna.

Very average food and slow service. Some dishes were excellent but the Bolognese sauce was a bit greasy and the vegetable flan starter was brilliant for one option (spinach) but baby food texture and colour for the other. We ate outside on the pavement which is on a high pavement above the road but the traffic, even on a Sunday,... More

Great decor with interesting artefacts and objects. Red checked table cloths complete the setting. Friendly service and a menu that has a good range of dishes but not so long you can't quickly decide what to have. We all ate pasta based dishes with a salad to share. The food was good and salad fresh and refreshing. Just what we... More

A few reviews say they were turned away rudely from this restaurant, but we went along at 7pm on a week night and received nothing but attentive and incredibly friendly service. To top it all off we ate the best tagliatelle al ragu that we sampled in Bologna (and we sampled a lot). The dishes are simple but very tasty.... More

Our family friend who lived in Bologna had recommended this charming trattoria in Bologna. Our dinner of veal and pasta was amazing, and the marscarpone dessert was off the charts. This restaurant is not to be missed.

Small, friendly, great service, charming atmosphere, and marvelous food. This is what you want in a family-run trattoria, and this is what Da Giampi e Ciccio delivers. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

We went there twice this month, the food was so good, the owner so friendly and welcoming, the venue so homey, it felt really good being there.

My wife and I were in Bologna for three days in November 2015. One day, as we were searching for a place to eat lunch, we came across Trattoria da Giampi e Ciccio. We perused the posted menu and peeked in the front windows and liked what we saw. The place was empty, but filled up quickly before we were... More
