The food and the service are great, and the scene is chaotic -- servers pushing carts between tables, carrying roast meat, desserts, plates to be delivered, etc -- people shouting, everyone having a good time and a good meal. Traditional but definitely not stuffy, not touristy, an experience worth having.

We went back, like every year, and were happy to find the place hadn’t changed after the founder Bertino passed away in 2016. Again, the friendly welcome, the warm family feeling, the friendly service and the lively locals enjoying the carts of boiled meat and grilled meat, the specialities of the house, turned the visit in a highlight of our... Yes, the decor needs updating but the food is good, the service is good and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I'm so glad I changed my mind about dessert - the tiramisu was THE best I've ever had (And I make a pretty mean tiramisu myself).

My wife and I stayed a weekend in Bologna and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local B&B owner. When we entered the place after eight we were the first to arrive. The decor took us back in time a few decades and one could smell the bleacher of the table clothes. I would not say it was... More

Three generations of lady-cooks in the kitchen, the owner as maître and rooms unchanged since over fifty years. This is Italy as it once was. The service is attentive and personal. Wines of good quality at very reasonable prices (ask for guidance if the names are unfamiliar). We didn’t hesitate to order a white and a red around 15€ each... More

Bologna is one of the food capitals of Italy. There are 19 regions in Italy and each offers its own cuisine. That is why it makes little sense to talk about "Italian cuisine" because there is no such thing. Tuscan food or Umbria food or Roman food or Neapolitan or Sicilian and so forth are all very different from one... More

We were recommended by the hotel to this trattoria and we really enjoyed it. It was authentic and only with local people as it's out of the touristic center. All dishes were tasty and prices were very reasonnable, the staff was friendly and attentive. Our best meal in Bologna and surely a good value for money. Recommended!

The restaurant has not changed in over 40 years ... maybe more ... and it shows very well. The food is typical from Bologna and "bolliti" dishes are delicious. But the look do not allow you to taste the cuisine at 100%.

Some friend suggested me this old restaurant for the classic Bolognese Tortellini with meat and was a good suggestion.

This place is a bit of a time warp , or traditional depends on how you look at it. A family run affair with local Bolognese food all of which looks good. We had a mix a pasta and a veal dishes with sides all of which were flavoursome. We had a great little half bottle of Sangiovese We both... More
