They serve delicious food and good wine with perfect view, the staff are super friendly, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to visit Monterosso al Mare.
Fresh and tasteful food. Very friendly and professional service. Lovely position next to the sea. Great people
Our favorite restaurant in Monterosso. Great seafood and service. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Great views.
I've been coming here so long it feels like coming home. The owner, Bacco and I hit it off immediately and I always relish the news that Monterosso is on my agenda. I never fail to recommend this place to any friends headed this way,...and they all agree. The food is fresh and tasty-- prepared perfectly. My favorite is the pesto and the sea bass. And of course the view is one of the best in Liguria. I'll be back, Bacco-- you can count on it!More
I went here for my 50th and we had a great time. We had the seafood risotto for two and it was perfectly prepared. I could not have asked for a better place to celebrate my birthday.
We had a wonderful meal after a pleasant day hike (photo attached) from Vernazza with another couple. If you are not up for a hike, Il Casello and Monterosso al Mare are also readily accessible throughout Cinque Terre via train. Il Casello is near the...town center, the train station and the sea. It is also located very close to the trailhead which leads to Vernazza. The host who greeted us immediately after our hike was very personable and seated us with an excellent view of the sea on a cloudy day (hence no view photos attached). The service was friendly and efficient, they even provided a member of our party with a bag of ice for a sore knee after our hike. The interesting menu was in Italian, English and German. Among the dishes we ordered were Stuffed Muscles with Cheese, Basil and Garlic; Gnocchi with Salomon and Rucola; Stuffed Anchovies; Grilled Filet with Roast Potatoes; and a Mixed Salad (photos attached). We also tried a bottle of the local Scogio Vino Blanco which was quite good. All the portions were hearty, and everything tasted very good. Very high marks were given to the Salmon and Roasted Potatoes. The male half of IllyCoffeeDrinkers is on an International Quest for the ultimate potatoes, Il Casello’s offering was definitely top shelf. Our bottom line, if you are looking for a very good meal with a wonderful view of the sea while drinking good local wine in Cinque Terre, this restaurant is clearly worth a try. We arrived in Monterosso by train and started looking for a place for lunch. We spotted Il Casello with it's yellow umbrellas right by the water. They seated us at a table on the edge with a beautiful view. Our food was delicious. We ordered...the Linguine with fresh lobster. It is minimum of 2 people to order this. So two of us shared this dish and then the other two of us shared the Pasta "Il Casello", Both of these dishes were made fresh to order and they were delicious. Our service was good.More
A great location for lunch. We had just arrived in the city and this was our first meal in Monterosso. What a great view located high on the rocks and overlooking the water! We sat outside and were well attended to. The food was fine...on this beautiful day.More
You have to walk a few steps off the main piazza to reach Il Casello but it’s worth it. We had the best calamari ever and the spinach gnocchi was very good to. That with a nice glass of a local white wine and the...view of the sea ... it doesn’t get much better. If you are in Monterosso, you need to stop in.More
