Excellent decor-surrounded by wine bottles. Well cooked local cuisine which was novel to me : pizzoccheri and the local buck wheat polenta. The wine selection was excellent, but I chose the by the glass option and I do not feel that I was compromised. The tiramisu was as it should be. Do not go here if you are a picky... More

Whilst the venue itself is quirkily interesting, and we were fitted in last minute, we were overall disappointed. Starters were predominantly cheese and cold meats, and most mains centre around the local speciality of polenta, which is definitely an acquired taste! Overall, the menu lacked variety. The main man pushily tried to upsell us at every opportunity which became irritating.

Lalimentari is a fine, small, cheerful wine bar/restaurant a few steps off the main street. It serves local specialties like the buckwheat pasta pizzocheri and the ravioli called casoncelli, as well as a large selection of polenta dishes, served with cheese or other accompaniments. There's an excellent wine selection and friendly service. The owner speaks English. At lunch in September,... More

A place full of wines. Food was excellent. We tried two main plates, three glasses of wine, dessert and espressos, everything was OK.

I don't understand why this restaurant gets such good reviews. OK, its got a nice wine cellar feel but we found it cramped (See traveller photo by photoMoniker). Staff seemed disjointed as if they were not sure of their roles. We selected wine from the menu but despite the hundreds of bottles decorating the room, they were out of that... More

Wine cellar atmosphere with a menu of traditional Bergamo food made with great care. We came here straight after our flight got in that morning in Milan, and what a way to start our trip. The wine (and prosecco!) list is excellent. We decided to get the most classic dishes: taragna polenta with wild mushrooms, and Casconcelli (meat-filled ravioli in... More

In this restaurant we were met very friendly. First we chose as main course rabbit with polenta. When we chose as first course ravioli with butter and sage, the host said, that ravioli is suitable to share . It was a good advise. The hole meal was tasty. The wines recomeded by the host were suitable with the meal.

A small doorway down a dark street opens to reveal a wonderful surprise. What a lovely restaurant and superb, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Reservation highly recommended. I'm finding it difficult to price it though - "mid range" would indicate it's cheaper than it is, but neither is it over-expensive. Value for money it definitely is, including a wonderful wine list,... More

The owner and his son welcomed us with a big smile, speak excellent English (the father...), explain each plate. My daughter did not like her chosen plate. They replaced it instantly without charging us. The food was excellent. My Corniglio w Risotto was divine.

Very nice atmosphere with shelves full of wine bottles surrounding you all over and creating an intimate ambience. The number one specialty is of course the local polenta and you have to like it, otherwise you would be disappointed
