You want a real Italian restaurant in Milan, try Da Bruno. Antipasto buffet is a must. Osso bucco with risotto milanease is very good.

If you are a typical business person needing a typical meal in a typical business environment, then this is the place for you. I do not like tables stacked side by side, so did not feel at ease in this high density environment. I had the fried squid and thought it would come stir fried, but no.....everything battered and crusty... More

As many places close to Duomo are targeted to tourists I usually try to avoid them as they don't provide good value for money. There we were delighted to find this great place just couple of blocks away from Duomo. The clientele was mostly Italian with local business people having their lunch. He had excellent pasta with fresh porcini and... More

Having just arrived in Milan after a long flight, we were in search of an authentic meal close to our hotel. There was only one problem - it was late afternoon and the majority of restaurants (other than around the Duomo or other high tourist traffic areas) were closed until the evening. We stumbled across Da Bruno as it was... More

Traditional restaurant with waiters in white jackets. Food excellent and service great. Similar prices to other restaurants in the area, but more comfortable and less rushed.

We choiced this restaurant because it is very close to the hotel and in Milan downtown. I would say that we had a great experience with the italian food, great antipasto, tuscan ham, then homemade pasta and the best cotoletta I have ever had. The bill is normal considering the area.

If you are looking not for a touristy place but a place where regulars come over and over again for last 20 years this is the place. And do not look on working hours that are indicated in Google or here. They are open for dinner! I had eggplant parmesan and it was perfect! In US you always have too... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
