Of the many restaurants we sampled in Piedmont, Tuscany, Florence, and Milan, this was the finest, and not the most expensive. The odd thing was we made reservations in several restaurants, but not this one, although we had a TripAdvisor list with us for Asti. The restaurant exterior is non-descript on a main street with adjacent middling buildings. Once inside... More

We made a day trip from Turin and boy am I glad I did. Truly memorable dinner. We had the tartare with white truffles and donkey meat ravioli. The tartare was the freshest and cleanest I've had. The donkey meat ravioli was packed with flavor. Service was impeccable. The wines suggested paired perfectly with our food. Highly recommended!

We were in Asti while the white truffle festival was occurring. This restaurant was recommended by our B&B (Villa Ferrari, see separate review). We must say, the quality of food at this restaurant and the quality of our waiters was as high as we have ever experienced. We chose to start with two sampler platters of hot and cold appetizers,... This restaurant offers a good choice of typical dishes from Piedmont. You can feel like at home and the personnel is very nice and friendly. Even at lunch during the week, you feel a quietness and calm that invite you to eat properly! Excellent the "agnolotti gobbi monferrini": ravioli filled with four kinds of meat, so good that you can... More

We opened our meal with a selection of cold and then hot antipasti. All of them were fabulous. If forced to pick a favorite, it would be the roasted pepper with bagna caoda. The tagliarini ai burro with tartufi bianchi is not to be missed. We ended the meal with a panna cotta with persimmon sauce and a gianduja mousse.... More

Let me first admit my prejudice. I spent many years working in restaurants. It was my profession. Campanaro seats maybe 40. Maybe less. The dining room tables are well spaced. Chairs comfortable. All that just fine. Many restaurants can offer that. What is special here is the commitment to excellence. The service is provided by two gentlemen. I found out... More

This was a restaurant recommended by our B&B hosts. We had a very charming young waiter who spoke excellent English and explained the menu to us. He said he runs the restaurant with his Dad. For our starter we shared a terrine of turkey and rabbit with apricots and chopped carrots. It was enormous and he divided it for us.... More

This is a tad out of the way compared to the other well rated restaurants in Asti, but it's definitely worth the short walk. The dishes were a welcome break in a holiday that revolved mainly around pasta, meats and cheeses - not that you can't have that here, but there are more original creations on offer, and they're well...
