Our meal was wonderful. We shared an antipasto course of mussels in spicy tomato broth, and it was out of this world. Hubby got grilled sea bass (served whole) and I got ricotta stuffed ravioli. Both were excellent. Service was also great, and some of...More

We visited Cantina Do Spade on a food tour about 11:45 a.m. on a Sunday and this place was very busy. We were able to taste the squid and baby octopus with some white wine. The squid was tasty. My husband said he thought the...More

I had the mushroom ravioli and it was to die for! This place had delicious authentic food at reasonable prices, much better than most of the touristy restaurants in Venice. We also had the meatballs over polenta appetizer and they were very tasty.

A nice little place with great atmosphere and the best cinchettis. We were especially fond of the meatballs, stuffed squid and stuffed zucchini.. A glass of wine is 3€. Definitely worth the visit!

Young, noisy crowd = fun. This is a “bacari” where you order the food by simply pointing to what you want amidst the array of prepared dishes called “cicchetti.” Hardest thing was securing a table.

This place is worth the search. Usually in Venice its easier to simply stop at a restuarant when you stumble on one but cantina do spade was one we looked for and it was the best meal we had in Venice. Venice restuarant staff are...More

We went here 3 times during our 8 night trip. It served delicious chicceti (small bites) and was such a fun place to be in.

Great authentic place! You got to pick some dishes from the counter or see what comes from the kitchen - my recommendation, observe and choose afterwards. It's worth coming by if you like crowded, local places. The service is friendly and kind and the food...More

The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the
Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six
sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest
neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the
markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops
display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San
Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi)
stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San

One of the most ancient Venetian osterie, the Cantina Do Spade is only a few steps away from the Rialto Bridge. This bacaro offers a variety of cicheti: small typically Venetian snacks like fried squid rings, meatballs, mozzarelle in carrozza, baccala mantecato etc. Here our friendly staff and atmosphere will make you feel at home, but with the opportunity to taste fine and fresh food.
