This place came recommended to us. We were lucky to get a window seat with views of the canal just outside. I really enjoyed the grilled fish which came with a hint of garnish I ordered chips, the amount of fish was very filling so I only manage a few of the chips. My husband choose steak which he said... My husband and I came across this place quite by accident one evening while we were in Venice last fall. We sat by the window so we could watch the gondolas pass by. We shared a wonderful fish dish that was absolutely delicious. We arrived earlier in the evening and didn't have a reservation .The service was wonderful and we... More

Good food, fair price, not crowded, but service what a bit slow, it took 25 minutes from appetizer to main course. Spaghetti with vongole was yummy!

We had three days in Venise and stopped at that corner restaurant on the way to San Marco. We sat by the window overlooking the bridge and the gondola passing by, this is the only good thing about that place... First course we had a cocktail gambiri...full of a kind of thousand island sauce (bottled one)...not nice at all and... More

While walking to San Marco was excited to find this quaint restaurant tucked off on a side canal ( Remer was not open) the plate of day was 16 euros .... the servers had the personalities of a block of wood... lots of sighs... there were 2 other tables when I arrived one with a large Italian family with children....... Just off the route from Rialto to San Marco. We went for dinner in January and it was very quiet. Windows open onto the canal in summer. Friendly waiter and good food at reasonable prices

Had a lunch and ended up there for dinner too! The menu was the same but the food was good each time, despite it being busy. Nice view at the window table watching the gondolas go by, not cheap, but food was tasty and good portions, the prawn cocktail starter was huge, and pasta dishes were big too.

On the way between Rialto and Piazza S. Marco. Small and nice place on a small canal. Friendly staff (french speaking). Quick service and quiet place to rest and escape from the city's turmoil.

We went here on our stay and wasn't disappointed it was amazing truly! We ordered a bottle of prosecco and we both had prawn cocktail to start then I had lasagna with salad it was one of the best meals iv had. There were bread sticks on the table for you to nibble but we really recommend this place

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
