We found this place almost by accident as it's away from the main tourist area. Fabulous food and at good prices for Venice. The steak was fabulous. It's a must book for the evening unless like us you strike lucky and there's a spare table.

The owner of our Airbnb made reservations for us. There were 6 in our party. Our son ordered meat for 6. To our surprise the meat was served on a boat rudder. It was several different cuts of medium rare beef. This may have been...More

Came here on 2 occasions, €3 prosecco €3 spritz. Amazing €1 cicchetti (finger food). Steak can only be described as wonderful and a must have on any trip, minimum €65 for 2 people but it’s worth it. Will come back to Venice and will come...More

This little wine bar with tapas and full meals was recommended by several locals and it was worth the effort! Crowded and lively in the evenings, with many locals as well as tourists mingling and chatting, this restaurant was clearly A Place to Be. We...More

We read about Al Timon online before our holiday to Venice and our hotel helpfully booked us a table for our second night. On arrival they didn't ask at all about bookings and we had to wait for another table to leave, luckily this didn't...More

We were recommended this place by the hotel receptionist. We asked for authentic Italian food where the locals eat and this is exactly what we got. The place itself is very small with not much seating so I'd advise booking, although I understand they put...More

Recommend by a friend, lovely bar/restaurant. Just off the Jewish quarter, in the day simple bar for wine and snacks, which are typical of this area. Small tapas type snacks. Lots of wine but as for other bars in Venice I recommend the the house...More

Had phoned ahead previous day and been told I could only get a table at seven. Went in at seven but table not ready. Felt quite unsure whether we should leave or not. Given menus but left standing. Actually what I think happens is that...More

We were here on Saturday night, so it was very busy inside and outside, and we had to wait for a table. It was worth the wait. We ordered two kinds of steak and ended up with a huge wooden board laden with steak, potatoes...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

We arrived right when they opened the restaurant. For one hour, they only serve the bread and meats. As soon as we got there, they made us a reservation for dinner. We did not have any previous contact info for them!
