Visited this restaurant after watching Rick Stein rave about it. We weren't disappointed. First if you want Pizza or Lasagna then this is not the restaurant for you, you simply won't get it. My partner and I shared a Venetian platter, it was mainly seafood...More

The meal started with complimentary shrimp chips served in paper cones that were a yummy pre appetizer . We continued with the shared portion of grilled octopus with crunchy salad, that we both enjoyed. Our main courses were, John Doré fish and pasta vongole. The...More

Walk along the alleys of San Polo to fine Antiche. Simply follow a group of locals apparently for a dinner party. Most famous for an appetizer - schie. The only problem is it is too difficult to reserve a table.

Popped in here late on a Wednesday evening as most other places were closed. Could only get an outdoor table on a chilly night but staff provided us with blankets which was a nice touch. Ordered the calamari/gamberi frittura which was nice and fresh -...More

Heard so much about this place and was even on Rick Stein programme. Very small menu for such a known restaurant. Maybe it was what I picked but it was average not the great flavours I had read about. However I did enjoy what I...More

This little restaurant is well worth searching out. The food can not be faulted in any way. The staff are lovely. You will need to book but it is well worth doing just that . Loved it ,would have gone back if we had time....More

It's hard to get a reservation here, but it makes sense because the food is so good. Everything from appetizers, to fish to pasta, and especially dessert, tasted extremely fresh and delicious.

Our hotel recommended Antiche Carampane and after noticing Trip Advisor reviews regarding the unfriendly staff and expensive fare, I was concerned. But we went and they were not only lovely -- helping us to decided what food and wine to order -- the dinner with...More

The restaurant is located in an intimate back, back alley and also the inside is intimate, and the eaters -- closely seated together (I hope you will enjoy your neighbors!) -- are animated. This all adds up to a very nice ambiance. The service was...More

Was just feeling very confused after being told this restaurant was 'too expensive' by I presume it's female owner.... like many, we had seen this restaurant on Rick Stein's Venice special. But after reading all the other terrible reviews on here, we now don't feel...More

The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the
Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six
sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest
neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the
markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops
display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San
Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi)
stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San

Agree with comments below - well worth the splurge. Our cost was €110, two glasses of wine. Important to book ahead.

Can anyone spell out the route to this restaurant? I am arranging a trip for friends and would like to be able to lead them straight there from the Rialto Bridge.

We found It quite easily just using a street guide out of a guide book. Just take your time. You need to book though. Hope you enjoy.

We are trying to book this restaurant, but it seems it is closed till January 25th. Their page says that. How can it be that you visited it in January?

We actually visited the restaurant in October although I reviewed it in November. We got our hotel to book - but it is possible that it's closed in January.
