We came here twice for lunch during our stay in Venice. The location is a perfect escape from the hectic crowds in the rest of the city and on a sunny day, sitting outside and sipping a glass of Prosecco was divine. Had the Burrata with truffle both times and the special spaghetti with lobster, both delicious. The wine recommendations... More

The main waiter was fantastic, really friendly, he could speak 4 languages apart from his native Italian! We were watching him going round talking to a french couple, then a Spanish couple, just an added bonus really. HOWEVER he was also a very good salesmen, he did con us into ordering a massive fish when we specifically asked for the... More

Great fall weather demanded al fresco dining, and this place has a wonderful and large deck with a super view of the Venice waterfront (but isn't all Venice a waterfront?). We were on the early side and perhaps they weren't running full speed yet (or maybe we were in Italy), so it took a while for a waiter to show... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around in the rain looking for lunch and it was one of our most memorable meals in Venice. The service was warm and friendly and the food was even better. First, the bread basket was so good! Lots of variety of both bread and bread sticks. For a starter, we shared the burrata... More

Really fresh seafood in a perfect setting on the water. Great for a sunny day. A little off the main tourist routes but worth the walk!

This place is just perfect! Away from the crowds, but in one of the best locations in Venice! Being Venetian I tried lots of restaurants here, and this one is really on the top 3. Food is incredibly good, fresh and perfectly cooked. And wine... if you love wine this is definitely the place in town, one of the best... More

This was the nearest restaurant to our hotel so we went for lunch on our first day, the food was so good we decided to return on our last day for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a beautiful bunch of flowers from Marco which was such a lovely thing to do. The wine list was amazing and the... More

The view is great, right on the water, tucked away on the edge of the Dorsoduro facing Guidecca. The food is excellent, but it's definitely a bit on the pricey side.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
