Delicate, delicious food. Attentive but not overwhelming service. Understated, intimate ambience. Reasonable prices.

We made a reservation here months before coming, but they didn't seem to have it. Regardless, they were able to seat us immediately. The restaurant is located in a cute and quiet little piazza. We ordered the primavera salad, raw sea bass that was thinly sliced, taglioni ragu, monkfish, pana cotta and tiramisu. The portions are perfect in size, and... More

An amazing place for a Venetian meal. The service here was truly exceptional as well. The waiter gave me great recommendations of wine and food.

The delicious and fresh food made marvoulous meals and an amazing experience. Although the dining place near the toilet was not ideal, the food made up for it.

Absolutely delicious food, from turbot, John Dory to spaghetti vongole. Couldn't fault it. Well worth a visit. Definitely pre-book a table. Service a little slow as restaurant became full.

The room is cosy and nice (you can also eat outside). I love de Murano glasses. Everything I tried was good but I go there again and again because of the tuna tartar. Excelent wines.

We had a marvelous dinner at Boccadoro, starting with their hot and cold seafood platters for two. Definitely go with the recommendations of the waiter. As with all excellent restaurants in Italy, the food is very fresh and the preparations are straightforward and superb. The wine recommendation was reasonably priced and excellent. Highly recommended, with prices at about the same... More

quite difficult to find, we went in February but I should imagine in the summer it would be delightful as it has what I should imagine to be a great sun trap outside area. We ate from a recommendation by the head waiter to try the two anti pasti fish platters, they were superb but were so filling we couldn't... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
