The service was slow and the waiter never once looked us in the face. My pizza was fine but my husband's burger was cold, bland and unappealing. Don't bother there are many better places where staff will at least smile at you.

It was the first place we visited when we arrived to Venice. They serve a great italian pizza for a low price [+ 1 euro of "coperto" per person - it's a common service fee in Venice]. Nice interior design, fast service, good atmosphere and delicious pizza <3

We were walking through Cannaregio kind of late and passed by this place and decided to stop. A decision that turned out to be one of the highlights of our time in Venice. Many options to choose from on the menu from pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, and much more with a large wine and beer selection. The service from the... More

We visited on a Saturday evening and ordered pasta. We realised that pasta in Italy is usually served as a starter but the portions were tiny. We had to order pizzas after to make up the shortfall on the pasta. The staff were miserable but not rude. We would recommend for a snack or lunch stop but not an evening... More

We first went there on the off chance, for a coffee and to rest my legs, I'm getting on a bit and there's a lot of walking in Venice, I was also wearing an eye patch and using a cane, so I needed all the help I could get. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The coffee was excellent... More

Saturday 31st December, 19:30. Two adults and two kids tired after a long day through Venice. We have been immediately accomodated. We ate: two hamburgers (incredible, big, tasty, perfectly cooked), special fried potatoes (actually special), one pizza (great dough, great flavour). One Moretti Toscana 50cl, one coke, one bottle of water, one Fanta, one double coffee=60€. The beard maitre was... More

A lovely little bistro on the main area off the grand canal. Great menu for lunch with traditional pasta and pizza and also a burgers and salad option. Good value for money and a great place to people watch.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
