Nice place to eat, if only for some cicchetti and a glass of wine. We enjoyed the risotto and sea food washed down with some nice cold white wine.

When this osteria was a simple cicchetti bar, it was amazing. They didn't accept plastic, you sat where you could and amazing dishes were constantly coming out of the kitchen. The local labourers ate there which kept the tourists away. Now, it seems that they've gotten with the times. It's still the same cramped, ancient osteria, but the menu has... More

We found it in Antony Bourden show, and came here to eat after a long walk. Risotto with fish is just perfect, and nothing better you can wish. also Good home vine, delicious pasta!

Seppia pasta was salty. Bigoli in salsa was ok. Grilled shrimps were delicious. Red house wine was good. We might go back. Don't know why TripAdvisor listed two locations. The mapping apps could not find the other location.

Quaint place, and a locals place which is good, ok food (although suspiciously fast) ok Prices ( beware Of the service charge) but a waitress ( redhead, glasses, a few pounds over weight...) when asked by my wife about what dish she liked the most... Because she didn't undertand english grabbed my wife's finger and pointed/moved it back and foward... More

Another recommendation from a local lady which did not disappoint having read some of the reviews. Brilliant service from the waitress from start to finish. Pasta first course was really tasty then a main of beef to share was more than enough, but found room to try the limoncello tiramisu (delicious!). Good wine too. There seem to be a number... More

Good points - friendly waitress, decent wine. Bad points - the food (fairly crucial) was bland yet too salty, dry and mediocre. The bread was at least three days old, very stale. I'm sure there are loads of places like this in Venice, but it's pretty difficult to leave happy after spending 70 euros, not really enjoying any of the... More

Again - we found this restaurant by a chance turning down this narrow alley/street; Luck of the Irish. Here they had very good local food: sardines in oil an onions, followed by liver Venetian style. All the food was good and sensible priced. Many patrons in and out and that adds to the attraction.

I was recommended here by my Airbnb host and she was right, generous portions for really good prices and home cooking at its best. The waitress spoke English ( and about 4 other languages!) and was helpful translating the menu. Pomodori and buffalo mozzarella entree was chunky and delicious, nothing gracious about the presentation here but oh! The tastes were... More

Decided to try this restaurant after finding our favorite restaurant closed for the day. We were sat down in the side room and ordered our meal. Within 10 minutes a group of local young adults came in everything went downhill from there. They were loud, yelling, screaming, using foul language etc. The owner was asked by all the other guests... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
