Good spot for a simple light lunch... loads to choose from. Bruschetta was tasty but nothing exceptional...salads are interesting too

Everything was great ! The waiters are really available and fast, and there is plenty of locals, that's clearly a good sign ! Yes it's a bit expensive but it's worth it ! Best cappuccino EVER !

We were staying nearby and ate here twice when we didn't want a full meal. Very pleasant setting, good service, and food was fine. It's not always easy to find a place in Venice when you just want a casual meal, and Da Gino was perfect for this. We came back for a pre-supper drink and that was very nice... More

Found this restaurant while wandering around and stopped for a light meal. Shared an antipasti plate and a bruschetta with mushrooms and cheese. Both were very good and reasonably priced; service was good.

Overpriced and €3 each for bread we didn't ask or know we were paying for. The food was okay/good but have had much better for half the price

We have stopped here for a quick coffee and found this place as a very nice. The cake, coffee, wine and service is brilliant. Sitting on the street and watching the life going past, what else would you need being in busy city?

We popped in here for a snack and drink whilst exploring this part of Venice. It's a busy little place but ideal for a quick stop. The place was full but we managed to squeeze in after a couple of minutes. The bar specialises in bruschetta and has a large choice. We ordered a Bellini, red wine, bruschetta and cheese... More

We stopped at this restaurant for dinner expecting at least average service and food. Our waiter was not particularly welcoming. First they brought out the wrong salad for my wife and when my seafood pasta came out the real disappointment began. I thought they had made a mistake because I couldn't see any seafood. I had had the same dish... More

A perfect lunch spot close to the Guggenheim and Acadamia in Venice. Bruschetta is fantastic. Came here two days in a row and had the vegetaria bruschetta both times. Oh, and a couple of cookies too. Waiters are so, so, friendly. This is a cut above the norm, and worth every euro!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
