Great food value! Very eclectic menu for a neighborhood dinning establishment. Pizza was surprisingly good and very generous for 10 Euros.

Al Profeta was highly recommended by my Airbnb host in Venice. I was so impressed that I chose to return this evening for my final meal before flying home tomorrow. On my first visit I called in without booking, and I was able to get a table, but this evening I reserved a table for the opening time of 7pm.... More

We ate here on our first day in Venice and are back again. Great authentic family owned restaurant. My husband had pizza and I had risotto (which is gluten free and they were happy to make dairy free for me). Great seafood too! Reasonably priced. Highly recommended!!

We always fit in a visit to this little gem whenever we visit. Food is amazing! We can't fault it. The pizza is great, salads worth a look too. Very reasonably priced.

Booked this restaurant to try the pizza on recommendation from Francesco of JW Walking Tours. Glad we booked as it was full on a Thursday evening! A very local place, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I had the specail starter of baby octopuss in red wine with polenta, very nice if a little salty. My main course of crab... More

The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Food was not the usual touristic menu, so we could choose some really tasty typical dishes. Pizza is very good as well and the prices are very reasonable. I cannot avoid to suggest it.

This was a delightful place where we stopped for a pizza at lunchtime. From outside, you would think it was cramped and pokey - you'd be wrong - you have to go down a side alleyway to get in but once inside, it's spacious and charming. The young men running the place are delightful and the pizzas - enormous! And... More

We went there twice during our long weekend in Venice - portions are enormous and dishes are varied and delicious. Book if you intend to go later than 7pm as it gets super busy.

This is the place where you won't go even if you read these comments. From the street view you can't imagine that you can eat here the best pizza in Venice. I had tried a lot. We arrived at 12:30, the whole place was empty, so I didn't really understand why the waiter asked me if we had a reservation... More

They have 100 pizzas on the menu. Both pizzas were very nice. All pizzas are around 10 pound so good value for money. Service was friendly and fast

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
