It all started with lipstick on a glass and continued with a waiter, who spoke broken English and German with us, even though I spoke Italian with him. We felt a bit fooled. The food arrived after 5 minutes and wasn't too bad, but because they wanted to close, they put away the chairs and tables around us until just... More

This is a great spot to sit outside and eat. They have plenty of seating, both inside and out. The food was a bit pricey because of the location. I had a wonderful Greek salad -and yes I know that getting a Greek style salad in Italy is a little ironic-. The address is not what I had noted -on... More

Had two dinners at this restaurant (gave them a second try after our first evening), but I am afraid that although the food was pretty good, the service here really lets them down. The staff seem quite surly and the service was really slow. They have a big menu but several items were not available when we asked for them.

The salmon I ordered came from the kitchen much quicker than it should have. And it showed from the taste and quality that it had been waiting in the kitchen to be ordered. They under-poured my beer. This was the first restaurant I've been to in Venice I didn't check the reviews of before trying and I'm disappointed.

stopped by for a tea break. Had tea and some dessert (semifreddo and Tiramisu). Not the best in terms of presentation, but taste wise, they were fantastic. Personally i find them a bit pricey, but after a long walk, I was happy to find a place like this to rest my tired legs and have a good dessert.

I could not find this restaurant on tripadvisor. It has the same name but a different location. We liked that they did not charge a cover and the menu looked good so we went in. There were many people inside. The menu has a large selection of antipasti, pasta, seafood and meats. The shrimp salad was very good as was... More

This has to be the worst food i have ever had. If i was in australia i wouldn't have paid for this and walked out. My fiancés pesto pasta tasted as if was cooked 2 days before. My pizza was old soggy. Would avoid this place at all costs.

Nice location especially when you're starving to death after a long walk! Why not? They have the best squid ink pasta! Service is not that good just ok a bit slow and not too attentive. Average :)

We were on our last full day in VCE and decided to look up our previous hotel near the Santa Lucia train station. Walked from San Marco thru Cannaregio and stopped to have lunch at this restaurant - only because it was facing the main street and we wanted to rest our feet. Lunch for two came to EUR 31.90;... We were attracted by the reasonable-looking prices and decided to take lunch here. Orders were taken and drinks arrived, along with unsolicited bread but no plates off which to eat it. Then the main courses arrived - two lasagni (as ordered) and some tagliatelle bolognese (NOT what I had ordered). Waving this away with "chef has made a mistake; the... More

This ristorante might not be listed, but I wish to comment on the food. This restaurant is actually misleading tourist on their food. Their pizzas and spegetti are one of the worst that I had tasted in Italy. They also charged 10% service charge plus 1.5 Euro per person coupled with the exhorbitant prices. I am warning other tourists not to be tricked into this. Thank you.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
