We had a lovely evening there. The pizza was fine, not much better or worse than anywhere else, although very large. I couldn't finish it, although everyone else in the party finished their meals as they enjoyed it very much. The staff were incredibly friendly,...More

Ok, so here is the bottom line. We wanted pizza close to our hotel and away from the tourist crowd. Pizza was good. Service was friendly. Everything was fine just not anything special. Do not know how other menu items are.

Although we really wanted to like this place, run away, run away fast. The first night (yes, we went back for a second) the food was okay - sea bass and speck wrapped steak - although the table-side presentation of the sea bass was amateurish...More

dear Thundering-pause, actually, our restaurant is, as you wrote, “the place for pizza for the locals”, in fact we have many Venetians clients coming for eat at Vesuvio or to order pizza to take away. We do every pizza at the moment, using fresh ingredients,...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
