We came this way looking for a restaurant that was recommended to us but we didn't like the menu so we stopped here and were surprised by how cheap it was. The pizza was delicious and very big. Would recommend if on a budget.

We were told they had a wood-burning oven - the pizza we ate was fine. We shared a tiramisu afterwards but it didn't seem to contain any marsala wine.

we have gone this place to have a lunch. We have ordered, two spaghetti(one pomodoro, one with shrimps), 1 beer and 1 coke. The spaghetti with shrimps was terrible. The shrimps were served with shell and there was nearly nothing when the shell is removed. The total price for this order was 40€ !!! For 40€s I have searched for a... More

We just wanted a bruschetta and a drink, we ended up paying nearly 30 EUROS!! After our bruschetta we asked for the bill. Strangely the waiter started talking to us about honesty and how honest he is about how great the tiramisu is and we should buy one each. We both declined. He tried and tried and we insisted for... Worst meal we have had in Venice, we like the table next to us could not eat the food it was so bad, reheated potatoes tasted like a week old, lasagne was disgusting - avoid this place if you can - wish we had!!

Excellent home-made thin pizzas, including tasty pasta and welcoming, attentive staff. Not a bad veggie selection. Happily ate here a few times while on holiday. Just off the tourist "strip" and much better food than the similar restaurant next door. Try walking over the nearby bridge into Cannaregio for some lively bars serving excellent pre or after meal wines and... More

Came in and our waiter was nice. They didn't want to turn the air conditioning on for us but gave us a fan instead. We waited 10 minutes to be given our drinks however our waiter was very nice and told us the history of the restaurant. He gave us a complimentary drink which was awful but nice that he... More

We didn't get half of what was shown on the boards outside, what we got was nice, but nothing like the advertising menu.

The main reason for the 5 stars is because of the excellent service. I found a lot of the restaurants in the area had very unfriendly staff but at this restaurant everyone was so welcoming and attentive. Really quick service which was also good. We both had very tasty pizzas at a reasonable price. We would return.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
