Because "its Venedig" (answer of the waiter to our bill surprice price) do not meant that they can add things without making clear they are not with your order, but an extra. A really expensive one! Some poor-taste pasta for 10 euros! the portions were too small, salted and not fresh. Never ever come there!

Visited this restaurant on 11.2.17 with my husband. We ordered our meal and asked for one side of boiled rice and one of fries. Our main course came but no sides, after a few minutes I called the waitress and asked for our sides, she eventually came back with 2 boiled rice, I again asked her for our fries after... More

Extremely good food. Venice is an amazing destination but food is not always great...but this was something different. It was very fresh, tasty and good value. Friendly service...we met a lovely couple on the table next to us and sat chatting to them for ages...the staff didn't mind at all even though we were all done eating. Recommend 100% The... More

Plates are the same price as most of the restaurants in the area but the portions are small and the flavours poor. Hot and sour soup has hot with black pepper but not sour.

I have never been treated with so much of negative attitude in a place where I come to pay and eat. Would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to keep the good vibe one gets from Venice. Dreadful!

I really wanted to eat rice after one week I stayed in Italy. This restaurant is very near from Plaza San Marco so I found it easily and went there thought I can satisfy my stomach. But it's a really terrible experience. The dishes like remains from yesterday. If this is in China, the dish is even not valued 1... More

After reading the comments on trip advisor I was dreading to go to this hotel but my partner insisted and I really wanted to eat something other than Italian food. So we decided to try. Contrary to the comments, this place serves good food at reasonable price and with decent portions (atleast for me). We ordered egg fried rice, chow... More

Starting with egg roll, halve way the soup was served, halve way eating the soup the main dishes were served. Not a place for a long and joyfull stay. They rush all the courses without letting the guests finish the previous. Not really friendly, food was quite good though. But than again, the beef with unions, could have a microscoop... More

Eat at your own peril! Before you eat just visit the ladies toilet! I had the misfortune to visit after I had eaten what they had classed as Chinese food! ( which was much debatable) The ladies toilet was disgusting and had a piece of paper sellotaped over the wash basin (why? I dont know) which was covered in MOULD!!... More

Service was awful. To be short, very rude, and wouldn't answer any of our questions about allergens and was basically screaming at us because I asked them to re-edit the bill.... due to a dish they didn't serve us! As for the food, it was at best over-priced and tasteless. There is absolutely nothing Chinese about what they serve

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
