We popped in for a late bite of lunch. Good service fast and efficient. The house red was very palatable. We had pizza which was great for the price (€8) - good size and plenty of toppings. It is a basic restaurant so don't expect award winning food - just cheap quick good food. Overall we were very pleased compared... More

It's OK and not that expensive considering its proximity to Piazza di San Marco. The atmosphere is lacking and having been there a few times it's been convenient but has no Venetian staff. The Asian staff are rather aloof and although not rude, are not friendly. Could be a cultural thing.

I am here for lunch. We had tasteless pasta and undercooked grilled vegetables. It's Overpriced for terrible food and poor services. The pasta dish is supposed with shrimps. But I hardly found any.

1.50 euro cover charge per person. Ordered spaghetti carbonara and prosciutto and mushroom pizza. Nothing great; nothing authentic that will knock your socks off. Just an O.K. place to rest your feet in the San Zaccaria area with air condition, toilet and wifi...

Authentic pasta dishes, really Al Dente. Good value combo dinner. Attentive service. Can't beat free WiFi.

My husband and I found this place walking two minutes away from the St. Mark's center. The food in that area is over priced for same dishes. The salad is fresh and portion is huge. Lasagna is good. Chicken dish is good too. Not the best we ever had. It's a tourist area ---There is a small cover charge but... More

There are lots of good eateries in Venice. We had three good meals here for 33 euros total, no liquor.

Found this place when looking for a place to eat near St Mark's Square, but not wanting to over pay - a hard thing to do in this area! Ordered a pizza and coffee, both of which were fine without being outstanding, and the service was efficient and friendly. Recommended as long as you accept it for what it is.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
