Reviewed yesterday NEW

Pretty plain Jane decor and kind of noisy and crowded but my husband had the fried seafood platter and really liked it - a lot of variety and things you would never get in US. I had lasagna. Just a medium piece of lasagna on a plate. Nothing special.

From the red-checked table clothes to the ship models sailing on oceans of wine corks, this place is a fun setting for good local food at a reasonable price.

Worst food I've had in Italy....Worst Italian food I've had anywhere actually. The decor and service is not much better.

We ended up at this restaurant after being rudely refused a table at Rosa Rossa. Unfortunately the waiter who served us did not speak english and muddled up our order, although giving us the impression that he understood what we told him. We ordered 1 starter to share and 2 mains, Veal & Lasagna. He brought us the starter and... More

The food was OK, and decently priced. The atmosphere felt rushed by our waiter and it was a fast dinner.

Good pizza and quick service. Staff are efficient but a friendlier service would make the experience even better.

To be honest, we ended up at this restaurant after being rudely denied a table at Ristorante Rossa Rosa. The meal was quite decent. We got the basics - spaghetti with tomato sauce and margarita pizza with french fries which came quickly. We also ordered a can of coke, fanta and a bottle of water. (the meal cost us 38... More

We took fish menu. Spaghetti with seafood was very good. Same for risotto. For second dish waiter brought calamari (good choice) and sea bass (rather small) grilled vegetables were not good. High cover charge (above 10%). Overall food was ok

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
