What a find. This taverna had an amazing friendly atmosphere when we tried it on day one of our mini break. We all had the menu of the day and it was superb. The restaurant was so good we wet back for our last night. Waiter was very friendly, spoke beautiful English. Would recommend this to anyone.

We had dinner here on our overnight stay in Venice and absolutely loved our meals, all of which had fresh seafood. Would revisit in the future and highly recommend others to come here!

Good service. Best Fish Soup I've ever had. The fish was very fresh. Service was good and no cover charge or service charge.

Modern and cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff and tasty food, especially the various antipasti. Nice selection of wines. Noteworthy are also the little amenities, such as offering a pepper grinder and spicy oil innately or having knives with propper toothing.

We were recommended by a friend to try here - and it was a good choice. And half the price of taverna near St Mark's Square.

We had the fixed price menu, very nice three course and reasonable. Not large portions, but great atmosphere and beautifully presented food. Excellent service.

On one of the more popular thoroughfares, this looks like any other small restaurant with tables outside. I'd thoroughly recommend stopping in. We only had the menu of the day, the best option, in my opinion, for Venice as a whole. The prices can be more than we're used to but the menu of the day seems to offer the... More

This restaurant was superb. The staff was friendly, helpful, perfect. The food was excellent at a fair price, no surprises, excellent wine list. A great experience. Our daughter is vegan and loved the bean soup and pasta. I loved the pasta with tiny clams. The lasagne was good. We all were very happy with everything.

We weren't able to get in to any of the restaurants we would have preferred on our last night in Venice and we're terrified to have another awful meal. Stumbled upon this place after wandering for a bit and were nervous that there weren't more folks eating there, but, at that point, we just wanted food. Overall it ended up... More

Our stylish art tour guide recommended this little local restaurant to us. On a sweet Venician alley- great for people watching. Try to sit on the street or one row back inside the open windows. Travelling with 4 young kids we tried quite a bit and loved the pizza with san daniella (sp) pruschitto- really a standout -and the carbonara.... More

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
