Everything about our meal was phenomenal, from food to service to atmosphere. First, the food: not only was everything delicious, it was affordable too! Service was very friendly and quick as well. As for atmosphere, the restaurant recently changed management and is now run by a younger crew. Its location in the university district means it's off the beaten path... More

We had a delightful meal in this very nice restaurant in a convenient location in the Dorsoduro area of Venice. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful and the food was well prepared and very good. We were very pleased that we chose this place for our dinner.

Good meal spoiled by over-charging. The cover charge (Coperto) was challenged at the table, but the waiter insisted it was correct and so it was paid. However, on checking other restaurants we found the charge should be €1 per person. So we returned to question it again. Apparently, their till has a "Coperto" button to add the charge per person.... I wanted to try the liver which is a venetian typical dish so i ordered it and my husband ordered a Barolo steak. Everything came just in time and big portions too. We enjoyed so much the meal, it was the best we have... More

Lovely environment with happy and friendly staff, top notch food and excellent coffee. The gnocchi alone makes this place worth a second visit.

We loved this place!! Small and quiet on a corner. The calamari was AMAZING!! We got a bottle of Pinot Grigio that was wonderful too. The mushroom or funghi risotto was to die for. They list on the menu $12.00 but at least 2 people need to get it so it's actually $24 for 2 portions. Totally worth it. It... More

Had a very enjoyable experience here. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to assist us. Staff made honest assessments of menu items for us and were spot on. Food was excellent, service was very attentive and we would definitely come back.

We've been in Venice for 2 days, and this was the best food and service we've had hands down! Pizza may be the best we have ever had.

Spoke to the young man when we passed the restauraunt on our way back to the hotel. He was very polite, not pushy and pleasant. We did go back and have dinner there and it was the correct choice, quality food, great atmosphere, very reasonably priced, professional fun waitinf staff. TIP watch out for the size of Pizza- Large. Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
