Quite simply the worst Italian restaurant you could imagine. Wouldn't pass as a school meal never mind a restaurant in busy part of Venice. Lukewarm Lasagne and Spaghetti on cold plates virtually thrown at you. Had to request parmesan and waiter complained he was busy. Reheated rubbish and tinned sauce. Please don't waste money dining here.

Busy restaurant on the main thoroughfare, good atmosphere and good food. Service was fine and house wine very good as usual. excellent bruschetta to start, chicken alfredo and shrimp tagliolini for main. Very tasty and would say for the main area it was a good experience.

Came here for lunch & had to wait approx 40mins for my food. Luckily I wasn't too hungry when I came and when the food arrived it was delicious. Sea bream baked with vegetables and potatoes, herbs, olive oil. Delicious, really simple but good. The downside was the staff. There seemed to be only one male waiter working the whole... More

This restaurant was only a few minutes walk from our hotel and we had a lovely welcome. Our starters (spaghetti in tomato sauce) was great, but our veal in breadcrumbs was a little disappointing as it was a bit dry. Had very nice greetings from waiters on subsequent nights in Venice even though we were going to other restaurants.

Waiter's were very cheerful. The food was varied. We had pizza, but there was alot more on offer. Looking at the dishes that cameout, it all looked good. From the squid to the spaghetti. We enjoyed it..would try again

There's a awful lot of average restaurants in Venice serving average pizza and pasta at inflated prices. Was the food bad - no. Was the service bad - no. Were the drinks relatively expensive - yes. It's just that there's nothing to distinguish this place from a 1001 other such places in Venice. Eat here and you will stave your... More

My wife and I eat here on two of our three nights in Venice. Both meals were excellent and the staff and ambience were excellent. A hubbub of noise greets you when you go in and with music in the background a perfect way to spend an evening. If you are in this part of Venice, ( near the railway... More

Now we are a rather fussy group, and we usually search here before visiting a place, but on this occasion we didn't and we braved it and headed in, and by god am I glad we did. The place was lovely and had a brilliant feel to it. We weren't harrassed to come in or harrassed once we were inside.... More

Terrible. We arrived at 9pm because almost everything else was closed, we chose the Daily menu in wich the price was fixed at 12 and suposedly there was no charge for the "coperto". They served bad pre-heated food (you could actually ear the "tlim" sound or the microwave) the waiter was in his mobile phone the entire time and didnt... More

Was lured into this tourist trap by a charming waiter. To test the waters we ordered red wine and some bruschetta. Wine was inferior and overpriced. The Italian chef should be ashamed of him/herself sending this inferior bread to the table. Casey dry bread, no flavour with several cubes of tasteless tomato cubes. A complete disgrace to Italian cuisine. A... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
