We bought a Groupon for 2 but tuck 2 friends with us as when we tried to use it the night before he said we had to book even though the restaurant was empty. It was our last night so wanted to eat with friends and because of the booking nonsense we had to go here we also ordered 2... More

Very unsympatic waiter. Unkind. Worst place we have been. 0 POINT for service. We onl had a drink. I had to take the order by myself on the Bar. The waiter didn't have the kindness to approach to the table unless the restaurant was empty. Never again. 👎🏻

Busy environment when we went there. Service was fast. Food was not amazing, but was not the worst we had in Venice. The portions served were small. Diverse menu and not just pizzas and pastas.

On a reasonable but careful ( after all it's Venice ) budget we stumbled upon 'La Bella'. Cautious snack ( mixed fish ) with some beer ,progressed to wine pizza ( hot spicy) and a pasta dish. My wife love the latter..I never had a chance at a taste.... quality excellent. Waiters with perfect English,no pushy attitude,a seat by the... More

On a wet evening in Venice we walked along a quiet canal looking for a cozy restaurant. Sadly we settled on La Bella Pollastrella. The seats were wet and when we asked for them to be wiped, they made a quick sweep - resulting in wet pants. The rain then set in and we moved inside. The menu was a... More

we found this little restaurant during our stopover at Venice with 2 and a half hours to spare. Service was nice, although a little slow. my wife had the pizza diavola while my dinner of choice was the pizza calzone Mio. Both arrived at the same time, were thoroughly heated and tasteful. Both meals were in the top third margin... More

We managed to get the seats right next to water which was really nice. The staff was friendly but the food was bellow average. I've had pizza which was much better than the one in Pisa but definitely not even close to the real, decent pizza we're used to eating. The spaghetti with sea food was the more disappointing meal.... I had a nice lunch with friends. Staff were very friendly and ready to accommodate all our picky requests... plenty options for all taste and the view of the canal is pretty pleasant. I definitely go again for an informal meal with friends.

Thank Elisa C

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
