The Tiramisu is devine. Must try with coffee or capuccino. Totaly recommend it! Near Ferrovia Santa Lucia 5 min walk, out of tourist's beaten tracks and only locals know it. Clossed in wednesday.

Located in a quiet part of Venice, you can sit beside the canal watching the world go by. The staff are friendly and the cakes/pastries and coffee are fresh. Great little place for the perfect Italian breakfast or a late afternoon aperitivo. Prices are also very reasonable.

Looking for bakery at 645am on a Sunday. Can smell the aroma coming from alley but doors closed. Not open until 8am. Window in alley is open and I ask what time doors open. Baker, Alex, asks what I want. Gives me some coffee and serves me though alley door. He was great making recommendations on what had just come... More

My Partner and I went here in September, very hot day, but beautiful place, lovely drinks and cakes. Lovely to sit by the canal and watch the world go by. The place was made even more special when the the other half got down on one knee and proposed! I must for us to return to :)

Morning coffee and pastries from this little pasticceria. Lovely friendly staff make this a perfect place to rest. This part of Venice is quiet and has more locals than tourists. Nice !

A very nice place to stop for the best pastries and coffee, or wine. The staff is very nice and welcoming. They also have great sandwiches. We will be sure to stop again on our next trip to the most amazing city in Italy.

I'm so glad I found this place again, it has been years since I first visited but the impression it left has lasted to this day. Hands down, without a doubt some of the best pastries I have ever enjoyed, plus fantastic coffee. I still remember the Strawberry Tiramisu, I now make it for any special occasion and it is... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
