Stayed in the Hotel last year before there was a restaurant. Very wet day in Venice and very slow ticketing on the vaparetto so we were cold and soaked before we got there. Dried out and decided to eat in. Very friendly welcome. Nice room, plenty of space. A couple of aperitif's at the table and then to their specialty,... More

We had two excellent evening meals here, both different but perfectly cooked and presented. The menu is small but perfect for a small hotel.

It is the restaurant of the hotel, which maintains the high quality of cuisine. To be honest, the breakfast and the dinner are quite good, especially the dinner. I think the chief is an creative person, which creates his own delicious match of the different food. I do recommend the Tuna cutlets. I think it could satisfy all nationalities. Apologize... More

Very clean and hospitable. Staff helpful and polite. Breakfast good choice available in buffet style. Set you up for day walking in the city. Dinner well presented. Staff explained the choice available. Food good and drink plentiful although draft beer. Restaurant closed on Sunday and we were not aware. However other restaurants nearby.

I covered this when I reviewed the hotel. I recommend , and photographed, the delicious food. Well worth eating here, even if you are not staying in the hotel: otherwise it just a well kept secret: exclusive to the guests of the hote. It is more worthy than that!

I was disappointed in this highly rated restaurant. We stayed at the hotel and were very happy with the hotel, but the restaurant is just meh. I ordered a risotto appetizer, a steak, and the creme brulee. All were forgettable. The breakfast spread the hotel offers though is very nice, but if you're just going out to dinner, it's better... Ate here as we stayed in the hotel above, food was very nice and waiters very helpful. Ox fillet was very tender and no fat to be seen! Well worth a visit.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
