My wife and I visited here on our last night in Venice. The food tasted great with good size portions and the meal was very affordable in what we found to be a vastly overpriced city. Staff were helpful and welcoming. We highly recommend this place to visit. However the restaurant is not well signposted and we had to actually... More

We went to this restaurant after stumbling upon it. It looked busy which was a good sign I thought. I liked the design of the menu. However the food was poor. The falafels I had were dry and tasteless. My samosa tasted microwaved , it was cold in the middle. The Afghan beef stew was tender and tasty but the... More

We had our first visit to Venice from 4th January. Doing the 'Tourist attractions was first on our things to do, but snacking in the day was small sandwich type food in various places off main tourist attractions. Prices are so expensive for the smallest of things. We strolled on 2nd evening along a walking route back to BOSCOLA HOTEL,... More

We literally stumbled on this small place recently.. Middle Eastern cuisine made a welcome change to pasta and steak!! Staff were very friendly and enthusiastic and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. We were so impressed we returned for dinner the same evening and it was the same again with a host of young locals enjoying the take-away service.... More

Having found this on here in search for halal food, we walked past at first as no obvious signage and windows painted in white but eventually realised this was orient experience. The place was extremely busy on a Sunday afternoon (today) we luckily found a little table, its small but very quirky and cool inside. Looked at a menu then... More

I had an opportunity ti have a Lunch in this Restaurant and I have had the best Oriental food in Europe. Their Afghani Plao is very tasty and highly recommended, we Like it so much, so before leaving from Venice I also had a dinner in this restaurant with my friends

Great atmosphere and a restaurent that seemed to be enjoyed mostly by locals. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the service incredibly efficient. Good size portions with exquisite eastern flavours. Great value for money. One of the best meals we had in Venice!

When I was on a weekend break, I visited this restaurant, the food is excellent and value for money, friendly staff and excellent service, the place is a bit small with nice décor. They serve Indian, Afgani, Pakistani and Mediterranean dishes. To avoid disappointment go there early for a good evening meal, the place gets very busy in the evenings.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
