It a tiny corner shop. Nothing over the top to recognise. A friendly young lady would make a fresh panini for you as you like on order. Reasonable enough for Venice.

This tiny, grungy shop featured a mama and wash bucket mopping the floor and shouting into a cell phone while a perplexed daughter tried to figure out how to make me a vegetarian sandwich. She was a delight, putting provolone cheese, freshly cut tomato, freshly spun lettuce, oil, salt, and pepper on my bread of choice despite offering no vegetarian... More

Came here with high expectations given the average trip advisor review for this place but left very cold and with 9 euros less in our pockets. The panini was very average and we were not given the choice of bread and/or ingredients that many talk about. It's an OK place to grab a 4€ panini but let's be clear: THIS... More

Just around the corner from our hotel, but worth a walk across Venice to go there. This lady sells fresh made-to-order sandwiches. But unlike all the other sanwiches we found, her bread is wonderfully fresh and soft, and she fills the rolls with a decent amount of filling. Heavenly. We had variations of salami, tomato and cheese fillings. All were... More

We'd read about Panini Lampo prior to visiting Venice....and decided to pop in given it's very close to the train station. We weren't disappointed. It does what it says on the box, and then some. Nice, fresh ciabatta bread and a reasonable choice of meats and cheeses as fillings. Prices are more than reasonable and anyone who's visited Venice knows... More

The only place we found open in Venice to buy coke, paninis and biscuits after 22:30. Great service and delicious food! The seller helped us lots and recommended us the best places to eat, to have homemade ice-cream and to go clubbing💃 e are so grateful! We strongly recommend to go to Panini Lampo!😄😄😄

We had this on our list of places to eat in Venice and realized we'd pass right by it on our way to the train station, which was perfect! We got 3 sandwiches, chips, and drinks for a very reasonable price. We loved seeing that the locals were stopping in for sandwiches and beer too. The sandwiches were amazing.. some... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
