We had lunch here and enjoyed very much the calm setting, the very nice service and the excellent food. Both dishes were recommended, explained as very Venetian ... and incredibly tasty. Strong recommendation .... off the usual path.

Recommended by concierge staff at Hilton Milano Stucky Hotel. My wife and I had an enjoyable lunch in this long time family owned restaurant during a free day in Venice. Had difficulty locating on visitor's map, but only needed to ask directions once and we were quite nearby. Warm atmosphere with several patrons for a late lunch. My pasta dish... More

We went for new year's eve-dinner and that was extremely nice, with good food and NOT overpriced. Everything very fresh (rather small amounts, but many servings!), well done, simple and good. Thanks for the warm welcome from Ms. and Mr. Busatto.

Within two minutes of the Rialto Bridge, this refined restaurant offers good Italian food in a comfortable set of rooms. Efficient and professional service and a good wine list

So many eateries in Venice size up the clients and those not familiar to the server will receive different fare. I have seen it over and over, because I spend several months of the year in Venice. The Fiaschetteria stands out as the exception, serving the same superb dishes to all. The owners are careful to seek out seasonal products... More

We had a lovely quiet meal for my partners Birthday which was appreciated and the service was good from 2 waiters, however the food was over priced, even for Venice and not of Michelin or even 4 star quality and one of the waiters was very sharp and made us feel like we were bothering him, so much so that... We choose this restaurant because the sign Michelin recommended sticker in front of the restaurant. Having been to ones in Rome. this is no where near real Michelin. Food taste good but very small portion for the price. The service is bad, wearing tie and look formal but the manner, the condescending look falls under 'Racism'. This is a tourist... More

I love Venice, ( I've been there a number of times ) but finding a really good food is difficult, and believe me we've tried. Fiaschetteria Toscana falls into this category. We found the service pretentious, that is when you actually got service. The food was adequate. Yes they brought your fish to the table for you to inspect and... More

When we chose this restaurant we were looking for somewhere without pizza and standard pasta on the menu but which offered Venetian specialities - particularly the fish. We certainly found it here. Although this restaurant is not the cheapest in Venice our meal was value for money and the service excellent. We had the tasting menu which gave us a... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
