Delicious meal in the San Polo district of Venice. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating, with a covered area described as a garden area. We sat in the garden area and was very comfortable. The pizzas are excellent and serves traditional Italian fare as well.

Visited this evening, the pizza I ordered tasted 'doughy' in the crust as though not quite cooked. My husband quite liked his lasagne though. After finishing our meal we waited, waited and waited some more. Waiters (ironic title as we were the ones doing all the waiting) wandered around aimlessly looking at tables and did not approach us once although... More

Terrible service. Not possible to order Some drinks only on terrace. Probably for commercial reasons. Instead go to the place in the other corner.

My family and I went to this restaurant on our first night in Venice and it was a great start to our trip! It was a recommendation from an Italian work colleague's father who visits Venice regularly so it had high expectations to live up to - and did not disappoint. It was also reasonably priced by Venetian standards. There... More

I chose this place for great pizza for my kids and a BIG salad for me! It didn't disappoint. Nice service. Not fancy, but good value.

We were only in Venice for a long weekend and felt disappointed not to have chosen better. The service was very slow, despite an almost empty restaurant and it didn't help that it was also very cold. When it did arrive, the food was good (if a bit 'cheffy') and there was a selection of craft beers on offer. The... More

On a recommendation we stopped at Birraria la Corte for lunch. It was better than we expected. The Bruchette della Casa (artichoke bruchette) was one of the best things I've ever eaten in restaurant. That was followed by Ravioli Anatra (duck ravioli on a bed of pureed white beans) which was just as amazing. The weather was perfect and we... More

So the food was excellent; pizza to die for (who said you can't get good pizza in Venice), raspberry semifreddo, yum. Service, not so good. Extremely busy, but left waiting ages to order dessert. Eventually virtually grabbed a waiter going past.

We ate here on a Sunday lunchtime, sat outside in the sunshine. Beautiful setting looking out onto the square, perfect for people watching!! Really lovely food, all fresh. Reasonably priced €50 for an orange juice, coke, cocktail, two mains and sides. Service was good to begin with but the only let down was a 15 minute wait for the bill... More

Birraria La Corte is the best restaurant in Venice where you'll meet a lot of Venetian people. All I've tried over there was very delicious and fresh! Pizza, different kind of spaghettis and that super tasty tiramisu that I'll never forget!

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
