In lovely area of Venice, you find this typical restaurant , far away from the touristic trap. A nice small restaurant, very cosy. The menu is really good with inventive and original courses. The only thing is that if you are not enough hungry to take 2 courses , just one could not be enough. I took the tortellini and... More

We had a great experience in this small restaurant. The welcome was friendly, the service was quick and the food and wine was awesome. We loved most the prawn spaghetti and the tiramisu. Really special

The dishes, though small and expensive (but this is Venice so... oh well), were excellent. It was a shame this tiny & well-appointed restaurant was completely empty the entire time we were there.... we had a reservation for 9:15PM on recommendation from our hotel because we were told that it was impossible to eat sooner. When we arrived to a... More

We enjoyed a fabulous meal here in what is a very romantic, cosy and atmospheric restaurant. The service was perfectly friendly and attentive. Thankfully we booked well in advance having chosen it prior to our trip due to its favourable reviews and indeed location. I am so glad we planned ahead and booked since whilst we were dining lots of... More

Conveniently located between the Peggy Guggenheim, Ca' Rezzonico and Accademia museums, Ai Artisti happened to be the only place we tried that could squeeze us in on a busy Saturday lunchtime. We knew it was going to be something special when the carpaccio of sea bream and raw red prawns arrived, mingled with a simple green salad of zingy fresh... More

Seabass and beef cheek dishes are recommended! Staff are attentive but not pushy. Nothing but praise regarding this little gem

Selection of wines is very attractive...the place strives to meet high standards but gnocchi were just good and value for money could be better...

Recommended by Cima Rosa, we found this place after another recommendation was closed. We weren't disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the host who generously helped us with our basic Italian, and given an option of a couple of tables which were free (we were lucky - 15mins later it was full as there are only about 8 tables inside).... We loved this place so much we ate there twice on our last trip to Venice and did the same thing again this time. The food is excellent and the service and ambiance are superb. Put yourself in their hands and enjoy yourself.

We were lucky enough to get a table for dinner without a reservation. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables, fully packed with tourists. We ordered octopus salad, grilled shrimp and squid, roast beef, and tagliatelle with crab meat. Everything was good and perfectly done. Definitely give it a try if you are running out of dining options... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
