The restaurant has a great charm, it's not your typical starred restaurant but interior-wise has a great personality. Hence you would expect something personal and surprising from the menu, too, but here comes the puzzle. We had two antipasti, one tartare e their "signature" egg with truffle. While the latter was an interesting experience (but lacking in truffle), the first... More

"Strange" is the single word I was going to use to sum up our experience there, and I just noticed its use in a previous review also. I am sticking to it because it is hard to describe it in any other way. In fact, two stars in my rating may be a little kind but I am giving it... More

What a strange establishment. Crammed to the gunnels with kitsch bits of tat and Murano glass, unmatched chairs, crockery and glasses, with a snaking layout of tables and kitchen. And to boot a Michelin star. This place could be a quirky gem, a defiant culinary John Soanes museum amongst the trad Tratts that do it so well in this attractive... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant without knowing that it was a one star Michelin. The interior looked as entering the tomb of Tut-Anch-Amun, with antiques spread all over the place. After a long travel, we arrived late and where in need of a decent meal.We had no expectations, but what a surprise!!! IT was the most delicious, most creative meal ever!... More

We found La Contains by chance on our second night in Verona. We had read no reviews but it looked wonderful. We sat outside and only saw the extraordinary shabby chic interior when we were leaving. The food was excellent. Superb scallops beautifully presented. The only issue is that the wine list is over priced and pretentious. We were looking... More

Quirky series of rooms taking shabby chic to extreme. But very professional, especially in the kitchen it would seem. Very confident Michelin-pleasing food: the kitchen has a high degree of skill but does not overcomplicate dishes. One negative note was they were playing some kind of repetitive EDM / rap music at intrusive volume, which I found somewhat at odds... More

The interior is, to put it mildly, quirky. The welcome was warm. The staff were nice. The service was good. The wine list is excellent and very well priced. The food was nice and well presented. IT was not, in our opinion of Michelin star standard.

On a recent visit to Verona to see and hear the Opera, My friend and I decided to try This restaurant which is very good. However not the usual Michelin quality and In My Opinion the food don't deserve a star. I have eaten is several Michelin restaurant throughout Europe and this certainly you have to question. I had Scallops... More

We made a reservation 4 weeks ago to end our Italy trip with a culinary highlight. We have eaten at Osteria la Fontanina a few year ago and loved it, that’s why we wanted to go there again. But instead of a place outside at the terrace, we got the last table in the darkest corner inside. As we asked... More
