Restaurant full of the locals , very good

What a great night, great food but I'm not sure what we ordered 😅 waiters spoke little English but we got there in the end. Great local atmosphere, it's a must if near to Taranto. Very good prices, 4 of us went 2 bottles of local wine, mains & dessert came to 147 Euros.

Nice restaurant in the old town

Restaurant set in the old town with nice outdoor seating. If you are a vegetarian you can pretty much only eat the tomato pasta, but it is some of the best I have had. The waiter didn't speak any English and we don't really speak any Italian, but his service was impeccable. He was very helpful and we still managed to order vegetarian and gluten free meals. The price was reasonable and all round I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

As a local who lives abroad it's always fun to find out new places to eat out in my hometown whenever I'm back on holidays. Last night I went to Il Porto with my family and I can honestly say I haven't been this impressed in a while. The food was superb, seafood antipasti comprised of mussels, "coccioli" (look it up!), octopus, and a ton more for all the tapas aficionados! Pappardelle with crayfish in a Splendid tomato sauce were a delicious main followed by a truly authentic fritto misto all washed down with lovely White wine. But price, location, and food all paled in comparison with the manager, Angelo, who made the evening an Absolute joy. The man is a true professional, always firing on full cylinders and never missing an opportunity to make you laugh and make you feel really at home. He looked after us and all the other guests with the same cordiality and energy in true Apulian style. Give the man a medal! Needless to say, I'll be bringing all my friends next time I'm back.

Not great and a little pricey

A bit expensive for pasta and seafood. My pasta and my son’s carbonara had almost no taste and almost inedible fatty pieces of ham, but my daughter’s orchiette was ok. They would only allow us two different kinds of pasta so I didn’t get to see if their amatriciana which was also disappointing. Not the best that this beautiful town has to offer. They were managing 3 dining rooms with just 3 servers, they should hire more staff so that we can choose the pasta we want.

Amazing place

Food and restaurant services are excellent. We had the opportunity to taste mussels and Taranto's specialities dishes. Awesome chef man,his name is Angelo and he cooks a special menu for us. I really enjoyed this good adventure. Go to this restaurant and enjoy the taste of Taranto.

Best food and service in Puglia

Simply best food and service in Puglia. We were staying near Taranto for one night and this was highlight of our stay. Angelo is simply amazing, I asked for an off menu dish in my extremely broken Italian and my wife said this was the best pasta dish she had in Italy and this is our 8th visit, first in Puglia. Angelo really makes your experience special.

Best seafood in town

Never miss a chance to visit this gem of a restaurant. Angelo, as always, was impeccable and charming, the food was particularly delicious, especially after a long flight I had just come out of. The place was bouncing but the service was always fast and on point, the food is top notch (no surprise there). Can't wait to bring some friends from abroad and blow their minds and taste buds! Love 'em!

Fish Restaurant, outdoor dehor and sea view, with many dishes, risotto from Zio and paccheri at first place, frittura di paranza, fresh fish ando so other... Indoor also, very nice place. Angelo is Cicerone for everything you need. A great choice!

Fantastic sea food, so fast and kind service, pleasent atmosfere. Best for money value. I can not believe how fast the waiters brought the dishes on the tabel, another after last one.

Disappointing and expensive meal

Disappointing meal. Food ok at best. Service rushed. Not good value. If you are looking for fresh fish in the old town there are much better places to go.

Here the food was amazing. Especially the 'cozze gratinate' and 'pepata'. Everything was delicious and the restaurant hall director Angelo was the absolute best! Highly recommended ! 10/10

Experience the best in Taranto

We had an excellent meal in the heart of Taranto's old town. Great service, great location and some of the best fish we've had in a very long time. Definitely worth a visit.

Good risotto and tiramisu

Dinner with colleagues in this restaurant and we were soon and eat outside of the restaurant. Good welcome . What was not mentionned is that Primi need ot be ordered for 2 ( or maybe I don't see it) which should be clearly indicated but it was good protion and really tasty. Wine is perfect at correct price ( maybe a little bit expensive compeard to other restaurant) but when you ask for a glass of wine it is an naormou sportion. Tiramisu is ok. We ask for 4 bill and there were not so happy and by coincidence the Credit card terminal was not working due to some communication changes. We recevie manual bill and be obiged ot pay in cash.... Nevertheless, good restaurant.

Great food, lovely service

We’d had a bad day and decided to have a bite to eat. Found here as was near to where we were staying. The waiter - Angel served us and was very helpful and cheered us up. The food - salmon risotto and mixed fried seafood was delicious followed by tiramisu and perfect lemon sorbet to finish. He also chose a great wine to go with the dish. After reading previous reviews about here appears mixed, however we received great food and service, and restaurant had a few local regulars eating here which is always a good sign.
