We arrived at 8 pm on a busy Saturday evening, hoping they could seat us without a reservation. We received the only unreserved table outside and started with oysters and tuna tartare. Both arrived rapidly and were delicious, very fresh. It took a while for our main courses to arrive as the restaurant started filling up with large groups. My... More

This is traditional restaurant, family owned business that is well managed and does not let quality drop. Prices are reasonable and they have dishes that are difficult to find on the menu elsewhere. Choice of wine is huge thanks to the wine shop inside the restaurant which also offers quick lunches (named Oyster). The place is normally busy so reservation... More

I love this restaurant. It is my alpha and my omega. Meaning, it's my first meal out when we arrive in Caglairai and my last meal out before I leave. I've been going here with my Sardinian spouse for 20 years. Antonello makes us feel like family. Fresh, delicious and unpretentious, prepared to be treated like family!!!

Our first impression of this restaurant was great, the location is superb and there was a good atmosphere in the street, we were also offered a welcome glass of sparkling wine. The menu is varied but some seafood is marked as frozen - not what we were expecting for a restaurant of this supposed calibre. Also it wasn't made clear... More

Nice atmosphere as guests are greeted with a cup of sparkling white wine while waiting for their table. The grilled fish was very fresh and cooked perfectly, lasagne perfect as well. Grilled scampis very tasty. Special mention for the desserts with their amazing tiramisu. We were expected much better bread as a warm bread is always a good introduction for... More

We have been going to this restaurant for years, never been disappointed! They have fresh porcini mushroom in big basket at the entrance and they will prepare them in a manner you like! Pasta with fungi porcini in delicious! They also welcome you with a glass of sparkling wine, while you admire the offerings. They specialize in fresh fish, which... More

The terrace is nice, in a small street in a nice area of beautiful Cagliari. Some meals were ok but don't go for the pesce spada with orange juice - a total scam, the most expensive starter where the orange juice drowns a sad tasteless fish. Sea anemone was good but too little. Pasta Vongole was ok but not great.... More

On recommendation by the staff of our accommendation we went here for dinner. We were offered a welcome drink, which was nice. The rest however, not so much. The starters were lacking creativity, no food presentation at all, just fish on a plate. The dishes were not properly presented in front of us, but instead were put down at the... More

First of all a disclaimer: the prices of this restaurant are reasonable. Downtown Cagliari, in the so called Marina neighbourhood, you will find many budget restaurants offering all inclusive 15 to 20 Euros menus. Ristorante Italia is not competing with those, on the contrary it offers a high level choice of fresh fish that, even in Sardinia, comes at a... More

Old favorite for family celebrations, in the elegant upper dining room, or simply for a delicious weeknight dinner. The Mundula family has been running the Italia for decades and has a faithful clientele that appreciates fresh fish, pastas and meats always satisfying. Nice wine list and desserts. Try the malloreddus, a traditional pasta dish, and a simple grigliata of fish.... More
