At the Eastern tip of Ortygia where the breeze is better and the people fewer is an honest place that combines humility with swagger and serves delicious food. Our meal was one of the three best in Sicily and we had spent too much time online screening for what we would most enjoy over three weeks of travel. Reservations necessary... More

Right at the tip of Ortygia and near deserted the night we were in. Deserves to be packed out. Fabulous food, good value, friendly.

Not really a place for tourists, as it is a no-fuss, simply decorated place--but the food is first-rate. Best home-made pasta with fresh anchovies as well as a melt-in-your mouth Pasta Alla Norma, and wonderful catch of the day. If you like food that has the freshest ingredients treated with respect, this is the place for you.

Taberna Sveva was a destination meal for us. We drove for 90 minutes to get to Siracusa and walked 20 minutes specifically to have a meal at this Slow Food restaurant. We found the table service to be less than interested in our presence. As it was a Monday lunch, there were only about 10 people present of which 2... More

A reservation is needed here and you can see why! Lovely quiet, airy setting which is great in August. Just away from the main busy area of the town. Superb food each time we visited and a varied menu and wine list. Staff always prepared to translate and explain the menu and ingredients of various dishes. Great atmosphere!

Recommended by Hotel Royal Manice and Fodor's, we were treated to one of our best meals in Sicily. Pasta with fresh anchovies and pine nuts, sea bas in potato crust (like a potato latke with fish inside), tiramisu with fruit. Fabulous. experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!

At the very tip of the Ortigia peninsula, this charming restaurant has a small and cosy terrace that looks out over the quiet neighborhood. But it's the food in this place that absolutely knocks you out with its classic Sicilian preparations of local produce, seafood, and pasta. The ambience and friendly service couldn't be better. We liked it so much... More

Located just in front of the castle this restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We had lunch here and found the food and service to be quite good but not exceptional. The restaurant serves typical Italian/Sicilian food with emphasis on seafood. The menu was not extensive but had more than enough choices. Considering other options nearby we found the... More
