the best seafood we had in Sicily! A new restaurant, young and modern cuisine. Great service and wonderful staff! A must!

We had a slightly suboptimal experience here which was partly, but only partly, our fault. It is clear that the house speciality is whole baked Fish and we were indeed offered this shortly after we sat down (they get that order going early so the wait does not appear too long). However the fish offered was large and my daughter... More

Cool contemporary design, with an internal courtyard, and views of the semi open kitchen. We had a reasonably large sea bass at €45 for two, my daughter had the sweetest langoustines ever (€32, but worth it) and her friend really enjoyed her veal with mushroom sauce...deliciously rich and great value at just €10. English a bit of a challenge here... More

This was a very pleasant restaurant down one of the very narrow lanes. It was probably the fanciest restaurant we went to. The service was good and the food good. They tried pushing whole (delicious looking) fish, but we resisted as the fish was just toooo big.

Last night we were walking in the rain down a very narrow stone alley here on the island of Ortigia, part of Siracusa, when we came across a restaurant just opening for dinner. We stood trying to read the menu on the wall when a young man appeared in work clothes and handed us a real menu. We had seafood... More

Perle d'Ortgia is down a passageway off of the Via Cavour. The first thing you see when you enter the restaurant is the many arches that grace the ample dining space, which allows for good separation between tables. Menu choices are also ample, and I can vouch for Filetto di pesce d'amo alla Siracusana and Tonno agrodolce alla Siracusana. The... More

Ortigia is an island reachable by three bridges from mainland Siracusa. After a day spent wandering the remnants of civilizations past, it was time for pasta & a sampling from the sea. Simone was our waitress & she hummed along attending to our every whim with a genuine smile & air of professionalism. I ordered the mussel soup & a... More

Very carefully prepared food. Casarecce with swordfish and mint. Tagliatelle with mushrooms. Vine tuna cooked with nuts and pepper sauce. Excellent dessert, not too sweet, nor was the limoncello thereafter
