My husband and I walked by and saw an inviting courtyard to rest our weary bones and eat. Was greated by the owner whose family has run this restaurant for generations. He speaks enough English to assist in ordering. My husband had a swordfish dish...with a delicious sauce. My spaghetti with garlic, basil, and pepper was excellent tasting. The bread was fresh with a good consistency. We thought the house white wine was a great choice. Enjoyed speaking with the owner who also cooks. Highly recommend this restaurant for ambience, delicious food, and a long standing family business. Cash only payment.More

We stopped at this restaurant mostly because the courtyard looked relaxing, off the busy street. We were served quickly and enthusiastically with several people checking on us and our preferences. I had salad and smoked swordfish, both of which were excellent. My husband had the...mussels which he said were the best he has had in his life. This is impressive as he is a senior and he will order mussels pretty much any time they are on the menu! They were super fresh, prepared with only oil, lemon and garlic. They had advised that it was a large serving, which it was, but he ate every one of them! This is also probably the first place on Ortigia where the wine by the glass was decent.More

Everything bad very nice, the yard in hot weather is good, but they don’t take plastic cards and they didn’t tell it when we were making order, it was a bad surprise

My family and I were in Siracusa for an evening and had the most delicious and freshly made linguine al frutti di mare. My sons really loved the spaghetti al ragu. The waiters are very friendly and tried to make us feel comfortable and welcome...at all times. We really recommend it !More

I went there in a large group and everyone working there was great, and the calzone I got was amazing. The atmosphere was the best I've experienced so far in Siracusa

I visit Sicily often and have been coming to Pescomare since 1996. An absolutely wonderful family-run place in a beautiful courtyard. Some of the freshest and best seafood you will ever eat. Louisa and her son Frederico treat me like family now. I went there...because of a Lonely Planet guidebook recommendation and have never regretted it.More

The restaurant is located in a nice location, near the Duomo. And the food was okish. Pizza was good, Risotto not so good. This is the reason I give this restaurant 2 stars and not 1. The service was terrible. You just can't tell me...that we need to order in Italian, just because we are in Italy, even if we were trying to speak in italian and english. This kind of nationalism is bad for any business and it just made us feel unwelcomed. 10/10 would not go again here. For the owner: learn how to behave giving the fact that Syracuse is a tourist location. Per il proprietario: impara come comportarsi dando il fatto che Siracusa è una località turistica.More
