We couldn't resist to visit the place reading the reviews. We had an enourmous sandwich made in front of us by the master. It can't be described how delicious was it and how many different kind of fresh local products (ham, salami, orange, tomato, different kind of cheeses, spices, lettuce and so on and on and on) have been stuffed... I visited Syracuse at the end of November 2016 and we ended up to Caseificio Borderi after wandering around the city on a cold afternoon. When we arrived there, the location was full of happy, enthusiastic people, who were eating or buying something. Despite the crowd, Antonio saw us and in 20 seconds he already served us a welcome mini-sandwich... More

Of course, by now, you will have gathered that this is a special place. It is worth the wait and the amazing panino will live long in our memory, in fact just long enough enough until we have to make a detour and visit again.

It takes a while until you get your meal but it is worth it, you see how the only guy prepares everything, you receive cheeses in the queu and finally you get a huge panino for a good price

Our guide at Etna Excursions brought us here and it was the best part of the tour. Amazing sandwiches and out of this world cheeses. I never thought cheese can be this good. Just amazing.

In the middle of Ortigia's market in Siracusa lies the best Sandwicheria we've ever been to in the world! It was hard to find at first - we went over it a couple of times until we eventually spotted it. It's basically a delicatessen with lots of goods to offer. We didn't know quite what's best to choose from the... More

Having a home in Ortigia close by the open market, I am quite a regular customer of Caseificio Bordieri. Every time I come I am blown away by the warm kindness of Gaetano and Nazarena. Even in the peak hours of their busy day, they greet you and serve you with a smile and little gestures like small bites to... More
