il Barcaiolo was recommended by friends who are real foodies, who love nothing more than cooking local produce in traditional ways... this is what you get at il Barcaiolo... great food and a great dining experience with friendly staff who love food... and what a setting to eat great food in!

The introduction to this Resturant is not safe and not user friendly... Beware... However the meal was elegant and delicious... The Resturant full ...obviously the stairs did not bother the crowd... Staff attentive.., fresh well executed fish ... Delicious meal

Taormina is a very expensive and touristic town to visit, so you have to be careful where you end up, although TripAdvisor is helpful, the reviews are often written by Americans who are disappointed by the service and the fact that they had to walk up and down stairs. This restaurant came recommended by italians, so I gave it a... More

The food is only OK and a little too expensive. The swordfish rolls were good but other than that there was agreement from all 10 of us agreed it was 3/5.

Anywhere with 100 steps is worth more than a tourist trap on the main drag. We had a fabulous dinner - pastas, risotto, seafood and meat were all lovingly prepared, full of flavour and generous servings. It was a few dollars more per dish than other places but more than worth it. Dinner for 6 including wine, sides and dessert... More

We had calemaris, great taste, simple. Pasta con sardines and wild fennel , way too much! But tasty. Pasta con scampi, pistaccio nuts , pesto. Slightly better. Too bad pasta fills you up so much. Smaller portion is advisable.

Simply loved the food, the service and the view. Can really recommend this nice place. The seafood is off the scale.

I was there with my in-laws and my pregnant wife in the afternoon of September 28, 2016. After going down the 100-ish stairs, the waitress originally gave us a table on the terrace. She then got into an argument with the kitchen and finally told us that the table was no longer available and told all the other tables were... More

If your looking for the real Sicilian food this is the place. It's a family owned Resturante and it's like eating in my Aunt Mary's house on a Sunday afternoon. The garden is amazing but more important the food will blow you away. We had a hot antipasto which included spaghetti squash, pistachio cheese, mini fretatta and so much more.... More
